A hospital radio station which launched the career of Simon Mayo, pictured, is celebrating 40 years on the airwaves.
Seaside Hospital Radio is marking the milestone with a special day of broadcasting on Monday September 24.
All day the volunteer-run station will be playing music from 1972 to 2012 along with some key moments in musical history to listeners in Worthing Hospital and Southlands in Shoreham.
Past members who have moved onto professional broadcasting include Mayo, a DJ on Radio 2, and Ambrose Harcourt.
On September 28 a dinner will be held with entertainment from West End star Darren Reeves.
