Last Monday, on the BBC’s South East Today news report at 1.30pm, Natalie Graham said Kent County Council was offering people £500 for each bedroom in large houses which are unused, and helping with moving costs and decorating.

At the end of this programme, viewers were asked to give their opinions on tenants being “forced” out to make way for young families.

The council stated no one was being “forced”.

If this proves a winner, and people are content to move to a home they can cope with, I hope Brighton and Hove City Council are helping young individuals and families in this way.

I understand Buckingham Palace in the middle of London has more than 400 unused bedrooms...
