A TECH business is celebrating a record-breaking year.

Hyve Managed Hosting is competing with some of the biggest global IT brands, including the likes of Amazon, Google, Rackspace and UKFast.

It has reported an income of just under £2.7 million in 2016 and has seen a 20 per cent increase in its customer base.

It was also recently shortlisted in the ‘Fastest Growing Business’ category at the Brighton and Hove Business Awards.

Hyve Managed Hosting is a web hosting business with more than 350 customers – including brands such as Carluccios and Safestore – run by a team of 20 from its Brighton office.

The company prides itself on its technical capabilities, backed up by ‘extra mile’ service.

Solutions are tailor made to each organisation and can scale to cope with high levels of traffic, provide industry leading disaster recovery and help to protect against cyber threats.

Having moved from Crawley in 2015, Hyve director Jake Madders says Brighton is an ideal location for the business.

He said: “The opportunities that the Brighton and Hove area provides for both companies and employees are second to none.

“With top quality universities nearby, there is an influx of talent being funneled into local companies, which establishes a vibrant environment that every local company could benefit from.”

Co-director, Jon Lucas, said: “In addition to Brighton being a great pool for talent, it is also becoming a burgeoning technology centre.

“As a proud Brighton-based IT business, we are thrilled to see such growth in the tech industry and Brighton emerging as one of the UK’s major tech hubs.”

This year the company continued its G-Cloud accreditation, which it has held since 2013 and qualifies Hyve as a vendor of choice for government bodies.

It was shortlisted for the V3 and SVC awards – both prestigious nominations within the tech industry.

The company was established in 2001 and offers hosting solutions to a variety of clients from small businesses to large corporations.
