COLLABORATIVE workspace provider PLATF9RM opened its doors at Hove Town Hall.

It follows the success of its first location at Tower Point in North Road, Brighton.

Since autumn last year, PLATF9RM has become one of the city’s business success stories, growing from 6,000ft to 15,000ft of workspace and zero to 250 members in just six months.

With its new Hove-based premises, the company is confident it will hit 500 members within the next year.

Seb Royle, PLATF9RM founder and chief executive, believes the new location will further energise the up-and-coming Hove business community.

He said: “It’s no secret that BN3 is home to thousands of talented commuters who ply their talents in London but times are changing.

“A new, dynamic and design-led workspace opening in the centre of Hove could be the final piece of the puzzle for many planning to ditch the train and go freelance or start their own business.

“Don’t forget remote workers and teams – many are tired of working from home alone and want to share ideas and make contact with like-minded people.

“When you consider the varied profile of the people inhabiting collaborative spaces like ours, it’s no wonder we’ve seen demand rise significantly.

“We’re really excited about adding to the buzz of this high-potential location.

Local designers We Like Today, who were behind the design of the Brighton location, were tasked with incorporating PLATF9RM’s interior scheme into Hove Town Hall’s 1970s Brutalist structure via a cork floor in the lounge and co-working areas, splashes of signature red and yellow and Scandinavian birch plywood utilised throughout.

The distinctive auditorium ceiling will remain untouched.
