BOGNOR Rugby Football Club has received £950 funding for its shower and changing facilities from CALA Homes as part of the housebuilder’s new bursary scheme.
The club, which was established in 1922, fields 15 teams across a range of age groups.
The donation from CALA Homes has been used to modernise and improve its showers and changing room in order to pave the way for the introduction of women and girls rugby at the club.
The CALA Community bursary was launched in April 2017 and the housebuilder invited local charities, organisations and groups to apply for help to fund projects which make a vital difference in and around their communities.
John Kennedy, regional managing director for CALA Homes (South Home Counties), said: “After receiving lots of amazing applications from many worthwhile causes, we faced an incredibly tough decision when selecting the final successful groups for this year’s community bursary initiative.
“Bognor Rugby Football Club is a real community club and, with community firmly placed at the heart of CALA, we are delighted to provide this funding for the refurbishment project.”
Doug Millen, First XV team manager, said: “We are thrilled to have received this funding as part of CALA’s Community Bursary.”
CALA will be launching the next bursary scheme this month, which is open to local charities and communities.
