CHILDREN from Arundel Church of England Primary School were treated to a morning of professional storytelling by housebuilder Barratt Homes ahead of National Storytelling Week.
As part of Barratt Homes’ ongoing Education Programme, the pupils were entertained by professional storyteller Cindylou Turner-Taylor.
Heidi Simpson, Year 6 Teacher and Deputy Head, said: “Storytelling encourages children to use their imaginations, to go where they want to go and see what they want to see.
“It has been a real treat for our pupils and they had a fantastic time.
“They were captivated by Cindylou and the characters she introduced us to. Listening to these stories was an excellent way to develop the children’s understanding of the purpose of story writing and foster their love of books.
“Our thanks go to Barratt Homes for organising the activity.”
National Storytelling Week has been used to increase public awareness of the art, practice and value of storytelling.
