THE McDonald’s restaurant in Burgess Hill has received a major £1.3m digital makeover with an extra 20 jobs created.

It was officially reopened by Mid Sussex MP Sir Nicholas Soames.

Customers now have the option to use one of the restaurant’s self-order kiosks.

These allow customers to browse the menu, look at nutritional information and personalise their meals, giving people more time to consider their food and drink choices.

Table service has also been introduced.

Franchisee Ismet Turen owns and operates six restaurants in the area, including the one on Civic Way.

He said: “We’re really pleased with our new look restaurant and the fantastic response we’ve had so far from customers and staff alike to the new digital kiosks and table service features.

“ Both are designed to make our customers’ experience as positive as possible.”

Sir Nicholas Soames said: “It was fantastic to visit the new restaurant and learn more about how the digital features will benefit customers and staff alike.

“I thoroughly enjoyed my tour of the restaurant and it was good to learn more about the work the franchisee and his staff do for the local community.”
