DOG walkers who use Brighton's Preston Park have been issued with a warning after rat poison was found in multiple piles of bread.

Sussex Police issued the urgent alert to pet owners after the force recieved a call this morning by a concerned member of the public.

They reported that "multiple piles of bread with rat poison" had been found in the popular park.

Sussex Police said in a statement: "Warning for dog walkers in Preston Park, Brighton. We have received a call this morning that multiple piles of bread with rat poison were found.

"If you are concerned that your dog may have consumed any poison the RSPCA have provided this advice."
