Police have issued a picture of a man who could help with an investigation in to a sex attack on a woman.

It comes after a woman was raped along near the Patcham Place Cricket Ground in Patcham on Sunday, June 25 last year.

At around half midnight a 44-year-old woman was on the pavement next to the cricket ground, when a man approached her and tried to talk to her.

He linked his arm through hers and after walking beside her for a short while he pushed her violently to the ground and threatened to hurt her.

He then raped the victim.

The CCTV image shows a man who was shopping in the BP garage around half midnight and may have seen something which could help with the investigation.

Detective constable Jack Sagar said: “We have this very good CCTV image of this man who was in the area at the time of the offence and think he could possibly help.

"Is this you or do you recognise this man? Please get in touch."
