BEDE’s Under-13 Boys were crowned champions at the Ardingly football tournament for the second year running.
The team scored 17 goals and only conceded three during the whole tournament.
Their opening match against Copthorne was a fantastic start with Bede’s winning 6-1 and they followed it up with a 4-0 victory over Handcross.
The boys’ third match against Brighton College was a very close game seeing the final score at 1-1.
And the final group match was against local rivals St Andrew’s and was a must-win for the Bede’s boys to stay top of their group.
The Bede’s boys held their nerve and registered a 2-0 victory to send them into the semi finals where they faced Hurstpierpoint College.
Bede’s were dominant from the off and took an early lead before running out 3-1 victors.
The final game saw Bede’s squaring up against hosts Ardingly.
This was a very close match and consequently rather nervy, but nevertheless saw the Bede’s Boys emerging victorious with a 1-0 victory and champions of the tournament.
