HEALTH visiting and school nursing services have been given prestigious recognition.
The Healthy Child Programme is run by Sussex Community NHS Trust across West Sussex.
It has been given Baby Friendly accreditation under an international scheme run by Unicef and the World Health Organisation.
The service has gone through a rigorous assessment over the last three years which has included a programme of training and interviews for all staff and extensive discussions with parents.
Unicef’s assessment team said it was clear pregnant women and new mothers were receiving a very high standard of care.
The Baby Friendly programme provides a practical advice from pregnancy to age 19. For more details visit sussexcommunity.nhs.uk/services.
