KNOCKHATCH Adventure Park is ready to welcome children from across the region and country as they open their first ever summer camp.

Organised in collaboration with Sportitude, a sports coaching and activity club provider, 48 children aged between six and 14 years old will have the chance to explore the indoor and outdoor adventure playgrounds at the park, which is off the Hailsham bypass.

As well as playing sports like rounders and football, the children will also learn how to walk the trapeze and juggle in a circus tent at the park.

Fiona Dean, holiday camp operations manager at Sportitude, said: “We are so excited by our collaboration with Knockhatch.

“The combination of our sports coaching, circus school lessons and the adventure park itself provide a level of excitement and variety that no other local facility or provider can match.”

The camp will last for most of the summer holidays, running every weekday from July 26 to August 27.

Working alongside local schools, Sportitude has given away many spaces to the summer camp to children from underprivileged backgrounds.

Helen Emmett, headteacher at Heron Park Primary Academy, in Eastbourne, said: “Sportitude does a fantastic job at Heron Park, supporting the teachers’ PR development and running sports clubs.

“I have no doubt that their latest venture at Knockhatch will be a success and that all who attend will have the time of their lives.”

Alongside the summer camp, the park is ready for a fully-booked summer of their meerkat experiences, owl experiences and animal keeper experiences.

The park will also be welcoming people into the recently-opened Chestnut Wood inclusive adventure playground. Featuring accessible water play and raised sand pits, as well as a trampoline and slide, this new area offers a quiet and tranquil place for special educational needs and people with disabilities.

Kat Sparrow, one of the staff members who will be welcoming guests this summer, said: “We are excited to be welcoming families from across the UK into the park. I have already met families from Essex and Kent who decided to holiday in Sussex this year!”

Knockhatch is also home to a number of large indoor adventure play areas, which boasts the largest drop slide in Sussex.
