Maisie Smith has reportedly landed her first TV role since announcing she will be leaving BBC soap Eastenders.

Smith has been involved in Eastenders since the age of 6 and starred in Strictly Come Dancing last year where she reached the final with partner Gorka Marquez.

And now the 20-year-old is expected to take part In the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Speaking to The Sun, a source said Maisie is looking forward to showing another side of herself.

They said: “Maisie wants to show there’s another side to her beyond the sweet Tiffany she’s been known for playing since she was six.

“She got a glimpse of life beyond EastEnders in Strictly and enjoyed the freedom."

They added: "She’d signed up when she told ’Enders bosses she was leaving, and can’t wait to get stuck in and prove her grit.

“She’s determined to give a good account of herself but knows it’ll be tough.”

The Channel 4 show puts celebrities into harsh environments to replicate the SAS selection process.

The two-week course will see celebrities pitted against each other in the gruelling selection process.

Earlier this month, the BBC announced the actress who plays Tiffany Butcher has filmed her final scenes in Eastenders.

Tiffany will have a dramatic final few months, with the breakdown of her relationship with husband Keegan and the return of her brother Liam.

At the time she said: “It’s time to say farewell to Tiff!

“I’ve grown up on EastEnders since 2008 and have learnt from the best over the past 13 years.

“I’m very excited for my next challenge and thank the BBC for the opportunity they gave me as a six-year-old.”

Smith’s character, who is the daughter of Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) and Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), left the programme in 2014 before reprising her role in the soap in 2017.

Jon Sen, executive producer of EastEnders, said: “We are all very sad to see Maisie leave.

“She’s been a wonderful company member during her time at EastEnders and it’s been a privilege to see her blossom into the star she is.

“She has created an iconic character in Tiff and the door is always open to her return.
