Beyoncé has announced that she will be releasing a new album at the end of July, titled Renaissance, which will be her first solo album since 2016.

The 40-year-old did create a collaborative studio album with her husband Jay-Z in 2018 called Everything Is Love, but this will be her first solo venture since the mid-2010s.

Last week, fans were left looking for clues after Beyoncé deleted her profile images across all her social media platforms.

This led them to theorise that new music or another announcement was about to be made.

Their theories were then proved to be correct, as the music service Tidal dropped the news on their social media pages.

As reported by Metro, the singer hinted at themes to expect from her next album after writing new music during the Covid pandemic.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in August 2021, she said: "With all the isolation and injustice over the past year, I think we are all ready to escape, travel, love, and laugh again. I feel a renaissance emerging, and I want to be part of nurturing that escape in any way possible.

"I’ve been in the studio for a year and a half."
