CONGRATULATIONS to elected and re-elected MPs in Brighton, Hove and across Sussex.
Retail premises can be vulnerable to crime and anti-social behaviour.
Hence I hope that on behalf of retail workers and society in general Members of Parliament will seek to secure more police officers in Sussex.
I have also taken time to speak to many police officers.
They are dedicated, wanting to spend more time in the community, tackling criminals, deterring crime and reassuring people.
However, the oodles of paperwork is an obvious impediment to police officers performing their duties.
Hence investing in more police officers and having a bonfire of paperwork is a win win situation.
MPs are entitled to move private member bills.
I also hope that they will consider moving a bill to close retail premises on Remembrance Sunday out of respect for the men and women of HM Forces and to give more time and space for the events of Remembrance Sunday.
