Brighton & Hove 10:10 is a city wide initiative that aims to inspire local people to reduce their consumption of fossil fuels and energy waste by 10% in 2010. It’s really easy to do your bit. All you have to do is go to the website: http://www.brightonandhove1010.org and sign up. You can then find out how you can reduce your carbon emissions in ways that most suit or appeal to you. This campaign is about regular people taking real actions that can have a collective impact on the city in which we live and love.

The Argus: Featherdown

The Argus is looking for a Brighton and Hove family to tell us all about their 10:10 journey. Whether you already consider yourself a ‘green’ family or know you have a long way to go in your household, we want to hear from you. In fact, if you feel there’s more you could be doing to cut down on your carbon emissions, you could be just the family we are looking for. The local family we choose will be featured in The Argus and give us updates throughout the year on how they are progressing. Plus, the pioneer family will win an amazing reward for their dedication, in the form of a great eco-friendly holiday!

The family that is selected for this project will enjoy a free holiday for up to 6 people staying on one of the fabulous Feather Down Farms in the UK! Feather Down Farm Days has been featured on TV and in national magazines and offers a unique UK holiday experience staying in luxury tented accommodation on working farms in some of the most stunning rural locations in the UK. http://www.featherdown.co.uk

The Pioneer family will also be invited to attend the Sussex Eco Awards 2010 to present the award for Green Household.
