Albion coach Charlie Oatway has responded to a “nobody” slur from Dave Jones by declaring: “There is no shadow over my name”.
Jones was front page news in a national tabloid last Friday after the Sheffield Wednesday manager reportedly had an extra-marital affair.
The former Cardiff chief had previously branded Oatway a “nobody” after the pair clashed during Albion’s defeat at Hillsborough last month.
Oatway said: “People that know me obviously know that I am not a nobody. At the end of the day there is no shadow over my name, so I don’t care what he says.”
Oatway and Jones were both charged by the FA with improper conduct following their second half flashpoint at Hillsborough. Albion’s No. 3 was cleared by video evidence produced by the club, while Jones was fined and handed a suspended one-match touchline ban.
