Out-of-favour Crawley striker Matt Harrold has joined Cambridge United on loan until the end of the season.
Harrold has found himself on the fringes of the Reds team since signing from Bristol Rovers in the summer and has not started a game for nearly two months.
The 30-year-old has scored just one goal – at Notts County in October – in 21 appearances and has fallen further down the pecking order since Dean Saunders took over from John Gregory as manager in December.
Harrold made a return from an Achilles injury in the 2-1 victory at Swindon on Saturday and is expected to go straight into the Cambridge squad for tomorrow night’s game against AFC Wimbledon.
Saunders said: “Matt needs to get games under his belt and this is a good opportunity for him at a level he knows well where he has scored goals in the past. We'll be monitoring his progress and wish him well at Cambridge."
