Chris Hughton believes there is extra pressure on his Albion side in tonight’s “big game” at Millwall after dropping points at home to Wolves.

And he has warned that rival manager Neil Harris will have the Lions roaring in the key clash at The Den.

The gap between Albion and the Championship relegation zone is down to seven points following Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Wolves at the Amex but they are ten clear of next-to-bottom Millwall.

Hughton told The Argus: “It’s a big game for us, there is no getting away from that, because they are below us in the league and it’s not only just about us getting points, it’s points you don’t want them to get.

“We accept and know that it is a big game but it’s one of numerous big games that we have. We have still got to go to Rotherham, we have still got to go to Wigan, and it’s about getting the points when you can.

“Unfortunately for us we didn’t get three points on Saturday so does that put a little bit more pressure on the next game? Yes I think it does but when you have got nine games to go and we are in the position we are in, every game becomes a big game and the points become even more valuable.”

Millwall’s former long-serving striker Harris, successor to the sacked Ian Holloway, takes charge of his first home match after launching his caretaker reign for the rest of the season with a fifth defeat on the trot for the ailing South-East London club on Saturday, 2-0 at Bolton.

Hughton said: “If we had a choice we would probably prefer that not to be the case (first home game) but it is the case. It will still be about our performance.

"I've got no doubts he'll get them going. We've watched their game at Bolton and they certainly put in a spirited performance.

"I would expect that, particularly with the type of individual the manager is, the association he has with the club and what they think of him.

"They will be looking and thinking it is an opportunity for them to get points. That's why I expect a very difficult game."
