Danny Pappoe scored two cracking headers as Albion under-21s romped to a 3-0 victory over Newcastle United at The Amex tonight.
Pappoe gave a young Seagulls side - featuring five players still eligible for the under-18s - the lead after 11 minutes when he nodded home a free kick from Jesse Starkey.
The former Chelsea youngsters combined again in the 29th minute to double the advantage with a carbon-copy goal.
Rob Deen took advantage of some poor defending just before the break to make it 3-0 and Will Collar almost added a fourth in the second half when his effort struck an upright.
The result ended a run of eight games without a win for Albion under-21s in all competitions and was the perfect start to Simon Rusk's reign as manager following his promotion from the under-18s.
