Albion boss Dean Wilkins has urged his players to make better use of Jake Robinson in his new position.

Robinson returned from a rest to head the midfield diamond in the last two matches at Crewe and Blackpool.

Home fans will see the Seagulls' top scorer in his revised role for the first time against leaders Scunthorpe at Withdean on Saturday and Wilkins is hoping for an improved attacking display from his side following the 0-0 draw at Blackpool.

He said: "If we are not playing well as an attacking force then it is going to be difficult for Jake to get opportunities.

"Against Crewe one of their midfield players was tracking him but Blackpool were letting him go and he was running at their back four.

"If we had played reasonably well we could have got him in on a one-on-one but we weren't able to do that."

Robinson has taken over from Nick Ward, who has been ruled out of the Scunthorpe clash and Huddersfield's visit on Saturday week by international commitments.

The on-loan QPR midfielder helped Australia under-23s draw 1-1 against Jordan in an Olympic qualifier in Adelaide yesterday.

Ward started and came close to scoring in the second half when denied by Jordan goalkeeper Mohammad Shatnawi.

He was replaced by Vince Lia eight minutes from time. Kristian Sarkie gave Ward's side the lead on 58 minutes before Jordan equalised with a 30-yarder from Ahmad Alzughier in the 85th.
