Two into three won’t go, at least not the way Albion line-up in the centre of defence.

So boss Chris Hughton admits he has a decision to make when skipper Gordon Greer is ready to return to action.

That might be today against MK Dons but is more likely to be at Burnley after the international break on November 22.

Greer has missed the last four-and-a-half matches after going off at Leeds with a knee injury.

Albion have conceded only two goals in the absence of the Scotsman, who is 35 next month.

Hughton told The Argus: “I will have to make a decision when Gordon Greer comes back. I’m delighted to have to make that decision.

“Young Connor Goldson is one we’re really delighted with. We have seen him on the bench more with Gordon being out but he is definitely someone we think very highly of.

“Nobody has let us down with performances at this moment. Lewis Dunk has come in and been outstanding and Uwe Huenemeier is someone who can head the ball and win it back.”

When Greer next appears in Albion’s starting line-up it will be for the 200th time in the league after signing from Swindon in July 2010.

Meanwhile, Albion are among several clubs keen on signing Ilkeston teenager Jordan Wheatley for the development squad.

The 17-year-old defender has come through the well-regarded academy of the Northern Premier League outfit after a spell with Mansfield.

The next match for Albion’s under-21s is against Norwich at the Amex on Thursday in the Premier League Cup (7pm).
