August. Simple as that.
What a month on the field. Made even better by the fact no one expected it.
Four wins and a draw. A stunning 3-2 success at leaders Ipswich. Manager of the month for Chris Hughton and player of the month for Kazenga LuaLua.
It was the month when hope, enthusiasm and a spring in the step were re-born around Albion – and the month the “good start by Brighton but it won’t last” line was born elsewhere in the nation.
Albion have probably had better months statistically. March 2011 for example.
But very few of them at this level and even fewer out of what looked like very little.
Of course the club was touched by tragedy off the pitch late in the month. That will be dealt with later.
But on the park we could not have asked for much more.
