Crawley Town midfielder Simon Walton has lost his appeal against a red card at Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
Walton was one of three players sent off – the other two from the hosts – following ugly scenes on Saturday sparked by Shay McCartan’s tackle on Reds defender Jon Ashton.
Crawley boss Mark Yates said after the game Walton had not thrown a punch in a melee involving players from both sides.
However, an appeal against the dismissal has failed and Walton will be banned for the next three games, starting with the visit of Plymouth on Saturday.
