Albion are on course to lose around £100,000 in season ticket sales - but they feared it would be much worse.
Fans have stayed loyal to the Seagulls, despite their struggles in League One last season.
More than 3,000 season ticket holders renewed before last week's deadline.
Sally Townsend, who runs the ticket office, said: "That is not far off normal, so it is looking quite good.
"The tickets are on general sale now right up until the start of the season and people will be able to book them online."
Albion had 4,000 season ticket holders last season. Townsend expects the final figure to be 2-300 less this time.
"I don't think it will be far off with the price reductions and the closer it gets to the season the more people start to think about it," she said.
"We have got quite a few attractive games, like Forest and Leeds. I think we will be down but not as far down as we thought we would be at the end of last season."
