Bruno has thanked his team-mates for keeping him young – after enjoying a perfect birthday.
The Albion skipper led his side to a 2-1 success at Sheffield Wednesday on the day he turned 36.
It was the club’s long-awaited first ever win at their jinx venue Hillsborough.
Bruno said: “I’m so proud. I said to the boys one of the reasons I keep playing is because of them.
“They make feel good every day and so special and that is why I keep playing.
“We are so happy. I know how important it is to make this type of history. It’s a really nice present.”
Bruno praised a complete performance at the venue where Albion suffered play-off defeat last season.
He added: “We know it is a tough place to come and we had bad memories.
“But I thought the performance was brilliant, from first minute to last minute.
“We are a little upset about the (last-minute Wednesday) goal, particularly the back four and the keeper, because it was nearly our fifth clean sheet.
“But today is just positive things – a strong performance.”
