Albion drew 2-2 at Stevenage in the Checkatrade Trophy tonight – and then picked up an extra point in a shoot out.

Rohan Ince, in the first minute, and Jesse Starkey twice gave the Seagulls the lead over League Two opponents.

They were pegged back each time, by Tyler Walker and Harry McKirdy.

That meant one point apiece with a second awarded to the team winning a shootout.

Uwe Huenemeier blazed the Seagulls’ first spot kick over the bar.

But Connor Goldson, James Tilley, Sebastien Pocognoli and Will Collar (below) produced super penalties.

The Argus:

That meant the Seagulls won the shoot out 4-3 as Henry Cowans and Connor Hunte both hit the woodwork for Stevenage.

Albion can now progress to the knockout stages if they beat Leyton Orient at the Amex in their final group game.

Ince scored after good work by Starkey down the left.

And Starkey's goal was a beauty as he headed in Joe Ward's precise cross after a clever pass by Rob Hunt.
