Swapping one Albion for another is working out well for Sebastien Pocognoli.
The left-back has already made two appearances for the Seagulls, which is twice as many as in his last six months at West Brom.
This has resulted in a fringe benefit, a recall to the Belgium squad for last night's World Cup qualifier in Faro, Portugal, against Gibraltar, managed by ex-Albion boss Jeff Wood.
Pocognoli, signed on loan in August for the rest of the season, knew he was in the thoughts of Belgian chief Roberto Martinez.
Albion manager Chris Hughton made him aware of interest from Martinez. That interest came to fruition on Saturday evening, when Pocognoli received a call from the former Everton supremo and discovered he was back in the frame for his country for the first time in two years.
His squad chance came in place of the injured Jordan Lukaku after plans by Martinez to call up Ghana-born Gent defender Nan Akwasi Asare were wrecked by a qualification issue.
Pocognoli, omitted by Martinez' predecessor Marc Wilmots due to his lack of game time at West Brom, could not disguise his delight.
Posting a picture on Twitter of himself training in Belgian colours alongside Eden Hazard, he wrote: "After two years I'm back. It means a lot to me."
Pocognoli was an unused substitute as Belgium swept aside Gibraltar 6-0. He made his Albion debut in the League Cup defeat by Reading at the Amex and then deputised for the suspended Gaetan Bong in the Championship draw at Ipswich.
He linked up on the left at Portman Road with Jiri Skalak, who is on World Cup qualifying duty for the Czech Republic tonight at home to Azerbaijan.
Hughton will be sweating on Oliver Norwood (below left) coming through this evening's test for Northern Ireland away to world champions Germany.
Norwood and Steve Sidwell performed well together in Albion's win at Sheffield Wednesday prior to the international break.
Dale Stephens is available after a ban for Preston's visit on Saturday but Hughton's central midfield scope has been limited by Beram Kayal's ankle injury.
