Albion hat-trick hero Glenn Murray has warned that Alex Pritchard could "come back to bite us".

Pritchard had a nightmare for Norwich in Saturday's 5-0 hammering at the Amex after snubbing a club record-breaking move to the Seagulls in the summer to sign for the Canaries instead.

The former Tottenham playmaker made little impact as he was booed, booked and eventually substituted.

Murray refused to criticise Pritchard for his eleventh hour change of heart.

He said: "As professionals we know not to make comments like that, because they are the ones that will come back and haunt you.

"We've got to go to Carrow Road this season and he might score the winner. It might come back to bite us so we'll just keep schtum on that.

"It was his decision at the time and I'm sure it was right for him."

Pritchard was handed his full away debut in the Championship for Norwich by boss Alex Neil after scoring at Leeds in the League Cup four days earlier.

He quickly became a target for Albion fans. They jeered his name before kick-off and sang 'what a waste of money' during the game.

Murray said: "It was only 1-0 at the time, so it was a bit brave. Luckily it didn't come back to haunt us."

Albion go to Norwich for their penultimate away match of the season in late April.
