Anthony Knockaert cannot be expected to perform in every game for Albion, boss Chris Hughton has warned.

The French dazzler rediscovered his mojo with both goals in Friday night's 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday at the Amex.

Knockaert's form suffered following the death of his father, but Hughton says that comes with the territory because of his role and the type of player he is.

Hughton told The Argus: "We all know Anthony has been through a lot, but he is also a creative wide player. They don't go through a whole season providing and producing every game.

"They go through highs and lows. He has been through a difficult period and a little dip in form, but that is also down to the position and type of player he is. I thought he was outstanding."

Knockaert's second goal was set up by fit-again Seb Pocognoli. The Belgian left-back on loan from West Brom will deputise again for Gaetan Bong (knee) in Tuesday's game in hand at home to Cardiff, when Hughton hopes to have skipper Bruno (groin) back.

He said: "It is minimal (Bruno), as with Sam Baldock (calf). We don't think any of them are longer term. We'd certainly be hopeful of Bruno for Tuesday and then we'll assess Sam.

"Gaetan I don't think will be ready. Seb did well and I thought his ball for the goal was exceptional."
