DAVID STOCKDALE 5

Horror moment for Forest's second. Too confident for his own good at times in possession, but should be cut some slack considering how often he has saved Albion in other games.

BRUNO 6

Ward intermittently threatened to be a menace, but the skipper generally had his measure. Ventured forward when he could, with limited success.

SHANE DUFFY 7

His injury is potentially more damaging than the result. Ball was like a magnet in first half, either at his feet or on his head. Plenty of no-nonsense defending and distribution which helped get Albion up the pitch.

LEWIS DUNK 5

Prepared to bring the ball out of defence to engage Forest, although it almost backfired in one first half instance when he was dispossessed. Another cheap booking and gave away the penalty.

LIAM ROSENIOR 6

Sound first appearance since August. Handled the substituted Pereira well. Backpass for Stockdale's blooper wasn't ideal and uncharacteristic last-gasp booking for dissent.

ANTHONY KNOCKAERT 6
Provided Smith with his toughest test of the first half with a low shot after cutting inside. But the end product was generally missing in some potentially dangerous positions and he stayed on for what he might do.
STEVE SIDWELL 6
Looked like he might be in for a stormer early on as he gave Rosenior some valuable help in his marking job of Pereira and made a great tackle on the same man. But his influence waned.
DALE STEPHENS 6
Had a little spell when he was at the centre of Albion stretched play from side to side and through midfield with their passing. But it was too short-lived. Booked just before the break.
JAMIE MURPHY 6
Did not make the most of some promising situations, notably with a couple of crosses as Albion started the second half with some increased tempo. Replaced by March in hunt for a leveller.
GLENN MURRAY 6
Had the ball in the net but clearly with the use of a hand. Looped a header over from Bruno’s cross but was generally well shut out by a Forest defence in which young Worrall stood out.
SAM BALDOCK 6
Covered distance and looked for spaces as usual but there were very few moments when it seemed it might lead to something significant. Frustration was evident as he was taken off.
SUBS
Solly March: Did not make most of some good left-wing positions but offered Smith his toughest test with a low shot.
Ollie Norwood: Tried to get on the ball and spread play.
Tomer Hemed: Offered a bit of energy but no great threat.
