Lewis Dunk made the call to play for Albion before going off unwell for the second game running.
Manager Chris Hughton relied on the central defender's judgement in last night's 2-1 victory at QPR.
Illness forced Dunk off during the first half of Tuesday's 3-1 win against Birmingham at the Amex.
He started at Loftus Road but had to be replaced again by Fikayo Tomori at half-time.
Hughton said: "It's a tough one. You've got to rely on the information from the player. And when you get a tough lad like Dunky, he wants to play.
"He trained yesterday (Thursday), absolutely fine, no problems. He did the warm-up and said he didn't feel 100 per cent, but he'd give it a go.
"The decision then is which way do you go? I went with his judgement. I thought he did great first half, but by half-time he obviously couldn't continue.
"Tomori has come on and done well again."
Dunk now has extra-time to recover before the Good Friday visit to Wolverhampton Wanderers."
