Tommy Widdrington believes he is leaving Eastbourne Borough in good shape after taking the shock decision to step down as manager.
Widdrington has left to take up a new role with another club.
Details of his new destination will become clear on Monday.
His assistant Hugo Langton takes charge of the side at Dartford today.
Widdrington told The Argus: “These things happen quickly. I had to make a choice quickly.
“You can’t choose the timing but I have done it all correctly and we part on good terms.
“I will have a different role where I am going.
“I am just pleased to be leaving with the club and the team in good position.
“It is not often a new manager comes in and takes over a good team but the new man here will.
“I’ve also been frugal with their money – as I’m sure the chairman will tell you.”
Widdrington had already made good progress in agreeing contracts with players for next season and played a big part in their academy.
