MATHEW RYAN helped Australia book their spot at next year’s World Cup in Russia with a 3-1 victory over Honduras.
The Albion No.1 was beaten in injury time by Maynor Figueroa's late consolation but Mile Jedinak's hat-trick ensured qualification for the Socceroos in the second leg of their play-off.
The first leg finished goalless but Ryan had little to do as Australia grabbed victory in Sydney.
Jedinak gave the hosts a 53rd-minute lead with a free-kick.
He doubled the advantage with a second from the spot after Bryan Acosta’s handball in the 73rd minute.
The game was put beyond doubt with four minutes remaining when Jonny Palacios brought down Robbie Kruse and Jedinak again converted from the penalty-spot.
Figueroa bundled home from a corner in added time but it was too little, too late as Australia and the Albion keeper celebrated at the final whistle.
