Wayne Rooney wasn’t the only player who scored from halfway last night.
Ex-Albion midfielder David Lopez did likewise in a low-key Spanish cup tie.
David netted twice for his current club UCAM Murcia, who play in the third tier, in a 3-0 win at minnows CD Olimpic.
The first was a header from a corner and the second, which can be seen at 4:40 in this YouTube video, was from the halfway line.
The goal came in a week in which David’s free-kick from rather shorter range in a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace was being remembered fondly by Albion fans as they prepared for Tuesday’s derby at the Amex.
