Albion have been warned not to be distracted by Wembley fever.
The Seagulls visit the national stadium on Wednesday to face Tottenham.
Manager Chris Hughton told The Argus: “We’ve got Burnley (at home) the following game - and credit to Burnley they’ve had a brilliant season so far - but at the start of the season you’d have said the two Saturday games are probably more important than the midweek one.
“You’d think that, where you need to pick up your points, Huddersfield and Burnley would perhaps be closer to us than Tottenham.
“That’s, of course, not true because of the season Burnley have had. But it (Wembley) can’t afford to be a distraction. At this moment the most important game for us by far is at Huddersfield.”
Hughton is encouraged by two clean sheet wins in the last three away matches, which have produced more points than in the last five games at the Amex.
He said: “I am slightly disappointed with the points we have potentially lost out on at home but I’m delighted with what we have been able to pick up away.
“That’s the hardest one, particularly coming into this division. That’s the balance and we have got to try to make sure we are putting in performances at home that become winning performances. We’ve got to try to turn some of those draws into wins.”
