Albion are set to block interest from Glasgow Rangers in fringe winger Jamie Murphy.
The Scottish giants want to buy or borrow Murphy, a lifelong fan of the Ibrox club, in the January window according to reports.
Albion boss Chris Hughton is not interested in losing Murphy.
He revealed to The Argus: “No. At this moment, if I am looking at the options I have in the wide areas, it’s been unfortunate for Jamie. Because of what we’ve had and no injuries in that area.
“He is still very much part of our plans. It only takes a lack of form, an injury or a couple of injuries and then he is very much back in the squad.”
Murphy, 28, has made one start and three substitute appearances for Albion in the Premier League, the last against Newcastle in September.
