Gaetan Bong has urged Albion not to lose his fighting spirit and commitment.
Bong is among eight players out of contract at the end of the season.
The former Cameroon international left-back, vying again with Markus Suttner for a Premier League starting spot at West Brom today, says he is already attracting interest.
Bong, 29, told The Argus: “It’s always a small part on my mind. If I had a longer contract then maybe I would be more confident, it would be easier.
“But I’m not thinking about it too much.
“Maybe the hard part now is I am out of contract in the summer and I already have people calling me, stuff like that.
“The hard part is to try not to listen to everything. I could already sign with a club but I know if I signed I would be focussed to help Brighton.
“I am a good person. If I’m there it’s because I want to give everything. If not I would not be there.
“I think the team and the club will need me, because I bring something different.
“Some days, when we are good on the ball, it’s nice, but when things start to be hard you need fighters.
“At this level in this league every team has fighters.
“You have to fight. You can be good on the ball, that’s not everything.
“When something is missing I think that is what I bring to the boys. Dunky, Duffy, they are are good, they play.
“But when we were speaking before the season started I was saying first let’s give everything, because after the rest will come.
“We have the quality to play, to keep the ball, to try.
