Bruno has urged Albion to concentrate on the basics as they look to cut out defensive errors.

But the Seagulls skipper also admits they must take more care going forward.

Bruno was bitterly disappointed to concede a pair of set-piece goals in the 2-0 defeat at West Brom.

But he also felt his side needed to take more care as they looked to turn promising possession into a genuine goal threat.

Asked by The Argus what Albion could do better when defending corners, Bruno replied: “I think sometimes when you overthink it, it doesn’t help.

“Now is the time to come back to the basics.

“It is to do the same job we have been doing always.

“That we have been doing in the last few seasons and we didn’t concede from set-pieces.

“We have been working really hard at set-pieces."

Jonny Evans headed home from a corner routine to put West Brom ahead inside five minutes.

Bruno said: “I thought we came back after their early goal and had really good possession.

“We were really close to their box and they were sitting back.

“Away from home, not conceding chances and getting in the right areas is difficult.

“I think we did that but it is about that last cross, that assist or whatever. We need to improve on that.”
