Chris Hughton is happy with Leo Ulloa's fitness levels after naming him in the squad for Wednesday's trip to Southampton.

The Argentinian striker, back for a second spell with the Seagulls on loan from Leicester, has made four brief substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes this season.

Ulloa had his first training session this morning and Hughton said: "He's in the squad for Wednesday. That's all I can say and we're happy with his levels. He hasn't played as many games as he would have liked but he's a player of very good experience and we're quite show he'll use that."

Hughton is not expecting any more business affecting his Premier League squad before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Wednesday night.

He said: "I must admit, I don't see too much more happening.

"We have a squad in place and you of course never know. There certainly will be business at clubs over these next two days and even going into that last day.

"At the moment, I'm not really anticipating anything else happening but you never know."

Albion are waiting on the full extent of an ankle injury suffered by back-up Czech winger Jiri Skalak in Saturday's FA Cup win at Middlesbrough.

Skalak is in Albion's current 25-man Premier League squad, which has to be re-submitted once the window shuts.

Hughton said: "We'll find out probably today the extent. It looked quite nasty at the time but we're quite hopeful it's not too bad."

Meanwhile, Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino will know more tomorrow on the chances of left-back Ryan Betrand (hamstring) and new striker Guido Carrillo after Saturday's 1-0 win at home to Watford in the FA Cup.

Pellegrino said: "Ryan was taken off during the game but he is much better today. He will try and get ready tomorrow and we will see what condition he is in.

"Guido came off the bench for us on Saturday and maybe is not yet at 100 per cent. Like Ryan, we will have another look at him tomorrow."
