LEO ULLOA has set his sights on survival – even if he has to send a friend and colleague down.
The returning Albion striker could make the first home appearance of his loan spell from Leicester when West Ham visit the Amex today.
He has been joined in the relegation battle by fellow Foxes frontrunner Islam Slimani, who signed a loan deal at Newcastle on deadline day.
Ulloa reckons Toon have made a shrewd signing.
But he is determined to keep the Seagulls out of the bottom three. He told The Argus: “That deal is a bad thing for us because Slim is a good player and Newcastle are there with us fighting against relegation.
“I wish good luck to him but I want Brighton to stay up.
“He is a good signing for Newcastle.
“He is a good player with very good movement inside the box.
“I know Slim very well, training with him a year-and-a-half and he is quality as well.”
Jurgen Locadia is training and expected to feature in next Saturday’s six-pointer at Stoke City.
Glenn Murray and Ulloa compete to lead the attack against the Hammers.
Ulloa said: “Players are fighting for the place in the XI but we are pulling the same way.
“We are trying to keep Brighton up.
“We have to work hard and we have to defend set-pieces much better.”
