Sussex have confirmed Ishant Sharma will return to their squad for the trip to Kent.

The India fast bowler is named in a 13-man party for the Specsavers County Championship division two contest at Canterbury.

It is his final red-ball outing for the county.

Sharma missed the win over Middlesex due to a shoulder injury sustained when fielding in the previous fixture against Gloucestershire.

His return to fitness potentially offers Sussex a selection dilemma after England prospect George Garton returned to the XI last time out.

Sharma replaces Stu Whittingham in the 13.

Sussex head coach Jason Gillespie, who spent ten weeks coaching at Kent last season, said: “I’ve been very impressed with the way we have been able to adapt to match situations this season and our efforts have simply been outstanding.

“Our goal is to continue working hard at improving each and every day. If we go in with the same mindset and attitude that we have had for the first four games of the season we will be giving ourselves the best chance of competing with what is a very good Kent team.”
