Albion loanee Richie Towell has helped Rotherham back to the Championship at the first attempt.

The Irish attacking midfielder played the whole 120 minutes as Rotherham defeated Shrewsbury 2-1 after-extra-time in the League One play-off final at Wembley today.

Skipper Richard Wood scored both goals for the Yorkshiremen who join Wigan and Blackburn, the other clubs relegated a year ago, in bouncing straight back.

The result is bitter-sweet for Albion defender Connor Goldson. He joined the Seagulls from Shrewsbury, while his close friend Jon Taylor is a team-mate of Towell at Rotherham.

On-loan Albion midfielder Oliver Norwood came on as a second half sub in ten-man Fulham's 1-0 victory in the Championship play-off final against Aston Villa at Wembley yesterday.

Fit-again young Seagulls winger Jordan Maguire-Drew completes his loan spell with Coventry in the League Two play-off final against Exeter at Wembley tomorrow (3pm).
