JOSE IZQUIERDO wants to take his Albion form to the World Cup after emerging as a potential Colombia supersub.

The Seagulls winger will be named in his nation’s final 23 for Russia today. He will follow Mathew Ryan and Leon Balogun, whose places were confirmed by Australia and Nigeria respectively over the weekend.

Izquierdo impressed as a half-time substitute in Colombia’s 0-0 draw with Egypt in Bergamo on Friday night.

He said: “I’m feeling good. I just try to do what I’ve been doing in England, which is to cut inside and look to shoot at goal.

“I’ve had a good season in England and that will help me a lot.”

Balogun played the first half of the Super Eagles’ 2-1 friendly defeat by England at Wembley on Saturday.

Albion remain interested in another defender, Liam Moore, who Reading value at £15 million, as well as Northern Ireland midfielder Paddy McNair although The Argus understands no new bids have been submitted in recent days.
