ALBION are braced for bids for their two out-of-favour strikers.

Sam Baldock and Tomer Hemed are expected to attract considerable interest from ambitious Championship outfits this summer.

Baldock has been linked with an approach from Reading as they rebuild after last term’s relegation near miss.

But The Argus understands the Seagulls had not received a bid or enquiry about their former West Ham frontman, who is under contract until 2020, as of yesterday afternoon.

Baldock felt he trained well and deserved more of a chance to impress in the Premier League after recovering from injury in the early part of last season.

Albion have since added the attacking pace which he could have offered with bargain signing Florin Andone from Deportivo La Coruna.

It is likely Baldock, like Hemed, would at least consider the chance to step down a division if there was a strong likelihood of regular action.

Equally, Albion suspect both players will be tempting to Championship clubs given their records both in scoring and creating goals during the Seagulls’ two recent seasons at the top end of the division.

Hemed has not played league minutes since January 20.

Albion winger Jose Izquierdo was, as expected, yesterday confirmed in Colombia’s final squad for the World Cup finals.

Colombia are in Group H with Japan, Senegal and Poland.
