JASON GILLESPIE has told Sussex to enjoy their day off – and then prepare to shine at Hove.

The county are in the thick of the promotion race after a thrilling 28-run win at Gloucestershire in division two of the Specsavers County Championship.

Gillespie believes they can still improve – but those thoughts can wait until they report back for training tomorrow.

Sussex host Glamorgan at Hove from Sunday, with play starting at 2pm each day.

Head coach Gillespie told The Argus: “It’s an important win and I’ll give the lads time to celebrate.

“They like singing the team song after a win and enjoy the bus trip home, enjoy Friday. Then we’ll review the game and preview the next one on Saturday.

“We’ll have our batting meetings and bowling meetings and look forward to playing at Hove.”
