JIRI SKALAK is a wanted man – despite not playing a league game for Albion for 15 months.

The Seagulls have rejected several bids for the Czech winger from Championship clubs.

Skalak has surprisingly attracted the most interest of the fringe members of the squad who are candidates to leave.

The Argus has already revealed Albion have turned down a joint bid from Hull for Skalak and Oliver Norwood, which fell well short of their individual valuations of the players.

Norwood is also attracting plenty of interest from the Championship as a double promotion winner with Albion in 2016-17 and on loan to Fulham last season.

The Northern Ireland international midfielder has been linked with Birmingham, although The Argus understands there has currently not been an offer from this Saturday’s friendly hosts.

Striker Sam Baldock, a target for Reading, is the other fringe member of the squad expected to move sooner rather than later in search of more game time. The list of possible departures also includes Israeli target man Tomer Hemed and Richie Towell.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Towell is wanted again by Rotherham, where he spent last season on loan. Albion have until August 9 to complete incoming transfers but they can sell to Championship and other Football League clubs until the end of August.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Locadia is expected to be out for two weeks with a groin injury sustained in last Saturday’s friendly against AFC Wimbledon.
