Chris Hughton hailed the "fabulous" goal from new signing Yves Bissouma which earned Albion a draw at Birmingham.

But he wants more from his team in the final third as the build-up to their second season in the Premier League gathers pace.

Sub Bissouma's free-kick in injury time from just outside the box cancelled out Maikel Kieftenbeld's stunning first half strike for Garry Monk's Birmingham at St Andrew's.

Hughton (below right) said of Bissouma's effort: "It was a fabulous goal. He's a different type of midfielder to what we have, one that certainly wants to break forward and that's what we wanted.

The Argus: "He's young, he's still got a lot of learning to do. He's got to get used to the system here, but he is a very good acquisition for us."

Bissuoma's fellow new signings Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Florin Andone were not involved in Albion's penultimate away friendly.

Hughton will be hoping the Iranian winger and Romanian striker will give the Seagulls more of a threat this season on their travels.

He said: "Probably the areas we need to be more productive in are in that final third. We were up against a very well-organised team, but we had difficulty breaking them down.

"Probably that's the area, if I look at the goals we have scored in pre-season. We've had good periods in most of the games in that final third, but it's that ability to have an end product or break teams down.
