Wigan's Dan Burn remains the likeliest last signing for Albion as the transfer window draws to a close.
The Seagulls ideally want to add the giant former Fulham and Birmingham stopper to their centre-half roster before the Premier League shutters come down at 5pm.
Meanwhile, moves out for Oliver Norwood, Richie Towell and Tomer Hemed are still a possibility.
Norwood's probable destination is not Hull or Leeds - who contrary to reports have not expressed an interest - but another Championship club.
Towell has now attracted interest from a League One side as well as Rotherham, The Millers want him back after his loan last season.
The Argus yesterday revealed Queens Park Rangers' interest in Hemed.
That remains a possibility, although striking a deal is complicated by Rangers' financial situation.
They reached a £42 million settlement with the Football League last month for breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
Championship clubs can still bring players in on loan until the end of August, when the window closes in Scotland and other countries.
