Glenn Murray insists Albion will not get carried away after beating Manchester United to ignite their Premier League season.

Albion’s opening day fell flat with a 2-0 loss at Watford but striker Murray was on target in a thrilling 3-2 win as the home campaign kicked off in style at the Amex.

Asked where he ranked the team performance since his arrival for a second spell in summer 2016, he admitted: “I don’t really sit down and rank the performances.

“You can’t get carried away obviously.

“At the end of the day, it was a good result but it’s only three points in the Premier League.

“Yes it was against a big club in Manchester United but it is about a bigger picture this year. We have got to stay up.

“Having afternoons like today, and enjoying them to an extent is obviously part and parcel of that, but the end goal is to stay in the Premier League and without that it won’t mean anything.”
